This listing is for a 1958 Cessna 172 (yes, before there was an 'A' model)...named Sally.Whether you're looking for a weekend trip or a means of chipping a few items off your bucket list, this aircraft has the capability to get you there. She has been all over the southwest, and through the mountains of Colorado. She's a little anemic in Colorado, but buzzing Pikes Peak at 14,600 feet is a memorable moment no one could ever forget. She has even been all the way up to Spokane, Washington, and made the journey like she was made for it!Many pilots are looking for a dependable aircraft to get them to their next exciting adventure, or in and our of tight airports (like Telluride, or Aspen). Some are looking to finally get their certificate, and demand inherent safety. Whatever the journey, this lovely bird, is sure to get you there and sure to put a smile on your face! She's landed on grass, turf, concrete, asphalt and dirt. She doesn't care what you land on...she's always ready to take back off again! Some pilots aspire to becoming IFR certified. If this is your dream too, this aircraft can certainly get you there...and at a very affordable rate. She has all of the required instrumentation to help you obtain your IFR! I have personally flown 100's of hours in this aircraft alone and after just 40 hours, the two of you will become one; you'll learn to communicate with her without saying a single word...and yes, she communicates back with a gentleness found no where else! There aren't many of these aircraft from the original model available and in this good of condition. She is one of a kind! In fact, I have all of the logbooks and records back to 1958. I have a limited digital copy available upon request. The data is a total of 800MB. I can always send you specific chunks if you desire. For just $10, I will be more than happy to send you all of the digital records via DVD in PDF via 2nd Day Air FedEx.The last annual inspection was September 2015, with no flight time since then. The ELT batteries should still be good, but are D cell batteries if replacement is needed. The transponder inspection was due in 2016. A new compass needs to be installed on the windscreen as the 50A alternator seems to have skewed the compass due to a higher gauge wire being installed in the vicinity of the old compass (originally installed on the instrument panel).I've made short-field landings in under 200 feet and I've landed at Leadville, Colorado. I've flown parallel to the Teton mountains in Wyoming and out over the ocean over Mustang Island near South Padre, TX. She's old and her engine is young, but she has everything you need to put a permanent smile on your I proudly carry around on mine!Help me give her a good home! Help her find a deserving family! Help your family explore the possibilities and freedoms of going everywhere, for nearly no reason at all!
