RotorWay blade specs: 7.5" chord, 190.5mm. Twist: none. Blade length: 11.75 ft. (3.584m). Weight: 35 lbs. (16kg) per blade. Blade straps included .
- The airfoil profile for the RotorWay rotor blades is NACA23015. A metal leading-edge is used for greater protection. Note: the original RotorWay blades were slightly wider than 7.5" chord to accommodate the trailing-edge rivets, but this was essentially "dead" space that diminished the airfoils efficiency. With their various corrections in chord, CG, etc. the carbon-composite blades will significantly improve performance over the original blades.
- Another improvement is in blade weight and CG. Â The carbon-composite blades are about 1.1 Â lb (1.5 kg) lighter than the original aluminum blades. At the same time, the blade CG is closer to the blade end as compared with the original blades. This improves autorotation.
- An aerodynamic length of metal provides leading-edge protection.
