Description
RotorWay blade specs: 7.5" chord, 190.5mm. Twist: none. Blade length: 11.75 ft. (3.584m). Weight: 35 lbs. (16kg) per blade. Blade straps included.
- The airfoil profile for the RotorWay rotor blades is NACA23015. A metal leading-edge is used for greater protection. Note: the original RotorWay blades were slightly wider than 7.5" chord to accommodate the trailing-edge rivets, but this was essentially "dead" space that diminished the airfoils efficiency. With their various corrections in chord, CG, etc. the carbon-composite blades will significantly improve performance over the original blades.
- Another improvement is in blade weight and CG. The carbon-composite blades are about 1.1 lb (1.5 kg) lighter than the original aluminum blades. At the same time, the blade CG is closer to the blade end as compared with the original blades. This improves autorotation.
- An aerodynamic length of metal provides leading-edge protection.
